St. Augustine Shores - In a Natural Environment

The St. Augustine Shores Community is located just 5 miles South of the fabled City of St. Augustine and 8 miles west of magnificent Atlantic Ocean beaches. The community was developed on 2020 acres of rolling highlands heavily wooded with tall oaks and pines, accented by graceful palms. St. Augustine Shores is surrounded on two sides by fish filled waters and encompasses it’s own sparkling, natural lakes.

The initial land development work was started in October 1969 for this 5200 single-family home and 3800 multi-family unit community and was formally opened on December 27, 1970. In April of 1971 the first family to occupy a home in St. Augustine Shores migrated south from Ohio. The Deltona Corporation's Makle-built planned community originally targeted the upper East coast and New England, and the Midwestern states of Ohio and Michigan.

Community Expansion With Taste

This community originally offered a selection of eight sensibly priced homes.
These homes ranged from 1-bedroom 1-bath models to 4-bedroom 2-bath models and offered between 660 and 1448 square feet of living space. The original models line the streets of units 1 through 6 in this 8-unit development. Later development in units 4 through 8 includes homes offering living space of 2500 square feet and up. The most recent models built by Toll Brothers offer 2500 to 3300 square feet of living space and were developed in units 7 and 8. A major modification to this planned unit development in 1988 reduced the density of this community to 3300 single-family homes and 2250 multi family homes.

Great Facilities

Our magnificent community has 58 acres set aside for the development of parks and 45 acres designated for recreational sites on the Intracoastal Waterway. A 12,000 square foot recreation building is located on the waterway. It has a 180,000-gallon pool, adjoining shuffleboard courts, and a baseball field. The Riverview Facility houses a 5500 square foot ballroom, a game room complete with billiard tables, a card room and kitchen facilities available for rental for various social functions and special events. This waterfront property boasts a 500-foot pier that extends out into the Intracoastal Waterway and provides an advantageous opportunity for anglers, wildlife observers and sunrise/sunset seekers who reside in St. Augustine Shores.

St. Augustine Shores offers well-manicured landscape design throughout the medians and along the main entrance points to the community and it’s facilities.
The natural buffer areas that parallel the arterial roads and bike paths promote privacy and provide observation points for community members to view wildlife such as Osprey and Otter.
